Privacy Notice

How Frontier Resilience Canada handles personal information from the contact form, call bookings, email updates, and analytics.

Frontier Resilience Canada runs this website. This notice explains what personal information the site collects, why, and what your rights are. It is written to meet Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and the UK General Data Protection Regulation, because clients and readers come from both countries.

What is collected and why:

Contact form. When you send a message, the site collects your name, email address, organization and role if you give them, the service you are asking about, and your message. This is used only to reply to you and to follow up on your enquiry. Messages are delivered through Formspree, Inc., which processes them on our behalf under its own privacy policy, and they arrive in our email.

Booking a call. If you book a call, the scheduling tool collects your name, email address, and the time you choose, and sends both of us a calendar invitation. It is used only to hold and run that conversation.

Email updates. If you subscribe to new articles, the site stores your email address and sends you an email when something new is published. Subscriptions are managed by Ghost, the platform this site runs on. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also email us to be removed at any time.

Website analytics. The site records basic, aggregated traffic information (pages visited, referring site, country, device type) using the analytics built into Ghost. This does not identify you personally and is used to understand which articles and services people are interested in.

Google Analytics. If you accept analytics cookies in the banner, the site also uses Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies (beginning _ga) to recognise returning visits and reports page views, approximate location, and device type to Google. IP addresses are truncated, advertising features are switched off, and the data is used only to understand how the site is used. Nothing from Google is loaded until you accept, and you can withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer, which also removes the cookies. Google processes this data on our behalf under its data processing terms; it may be transferred to the United States under the UK extension to the EU to US Data Privacy Framework. Google's own privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy. Analytics data is retained for 14 months.

Cookies. Apart from the optional Google Analytics cookies described above, the site sets only the cookies needed for it to work, including a session cookie if you subscribe or sign in. It does not use advertising cookies or sell data to anyone. Browsers that send the Global Privacy Control signal are treated as having declined analytics.

Legal basis (UK and EU visitors)

Replying to your enquiry is processed on the basis of your request and our legitimate interest in responding to potential clients. Email updates are sent on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing. Ghost's built in analytics are processed on the basis of legitimate interest in running the site, using aggregated data only. Google Analytics cookies are set only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time from the Cookie settings link in the footer.

Where information is stored

This site is hosted by Ghost Foundation on servers located in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, within the European Union. The form service, the scheduling tool, and our email provider store information on their own servers, which may be outside Canada and the UK. Each provider applies its own safeguards for international transfers.

How long it is kept

Contact form messages are kept for as long as needed to respond and, if we work together, for the length of the engagement and the records retention period that follows. Email subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Aggregated analytics are kept indefinitely because they do not identify anyone.

Your rights

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, withdraw consent to email updates, or object to processing. Email scunningham@frontierresilience.org and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the UK and are not satisfied with the response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. In Canada, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
